“My son and I visited Sapporo recently and wanted to do some fly fishing and exploring. Kevin picked us up at our hotel in Sapporo and took us out for a full day. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery on a stream within Shikotsu-Tōya National Park. Kevin knew the area well. Within a short time, we were catching numerous wild rainbow trout and dace. Kevin gave my son some helpful advice on his casting, as well as some tips for me on fishing in smaller waters. He also stayed on the lookout for bears, which I appreciated. We made our way up the river and saw deer and birds. I appreciated that Kevin was fluent in Japanese, as we encountered another fisherman, and it was helpful to converse about good spots for the day.
